The lines appear overfull by noontime
Fluttering in the breeze and
Painting strokes of hilarity in the air
They unwind their downtime to the limit.

At sundown, when it’s time to say “so long”
Some act clingy,
Some play ‘catch me if you can’,
While some others turn unruly!

Yet, being bound by time and duty
My starched whites reconcile and
We make peace!
